Hello World.
This is not the first time I’ve greeted you, but it is one with more intention and experience than previous attempts.
I’m Calle (on the internet at least), and I am not as new here as I thought. I have been coding for nearly 2 years now, according to my Neocities site stats, and the passage of time is truly fascinating to become aware of.
My first coding project started because a friend of mine had actually built a static site and I had stumbled into the small web around the same time. It’s been a journey, but a very fun hobby to dive into, if time consuming. But the time moves with purpose instead of with haste, and it has taught me patience and perseverance in the face of obstacles.
There is something poetic in that the standard first words of a new coder is “Hello World”. It’s a greeting, welcoming the world wide web and all with access who stumble into your corner of it. I wonder what the origin of that standard is. I wonder if they knew the depths to which I consider it; if they considered it just as deep and profound.
This blog is my first true attempt to share my thoughts on the internet in a more intentional, prolonged manner. I am someone who never really understood or got sucked into standard social media. That level of energy towards something received and perceived as superficial is not something I can spare. I am not meant for quick glimpses, concise captions, hurried hashtags. I am far slower, far deeper, far more complex than those platforms offer me. And far too long-winded besides.
This blog is still early in concept and form, but that is fine by me. It will grow and evolve and drift and change as I do: which is what I want most out of it, to be honest. A place that can adapt to my ever shifting thoughts and interests while maintaining form and function.
But, some things I intend to share here, at least for the time being:
- My Aspirations and Actions regarding
- Fostering Community
- my pirate DnD game I’m running
- Crafts and Connection
- developing my Resource Hub
- Accessible Coding and Development
- My Research and Dives into
- Queer/LGBTQIA+ History
- Mesopotamian Mythology/Legend
- Greek Mythology and adaptations
- Celtic/Druidic Mythology/Legend
- Arthurian Legends
If those things sound interesting, I’d just like to say:
Hello World. Welcome to Calle’s Eclectic Collections. I hope you enjoy your time here.
