Doing My Best Challenge: July 2026 Prep

The "Doing My Best Challenge" by Carolanne Michelle is something I found the same way I found her community: Stumbled in by chance, but plopped myself down quite determinedly in the space when I realized how lovely the people were!

It is simple in theory, made up of 7 different goals to complete each day for 30 days. I'm going to reflect on each of the seven goals individually and try to figure out my plan to achieve consistency for each.

WRITE THREE THINGS YOU’RE GRATEFUL FOR

This feels the most feasible for me to do regularly. I'm a pretty positive person habitually already, which I am very grateful for. Oh, there's one.

I will write these after (or during) dinner every day, first thing in the morning, or when I feel compelled around that.

10 MINUTES OUTSIDE

I am… quite a homebody, and not even that intentionally. It's just really fricking hot where I am. But that can be worked around!

I wake up early these days, so might sit on my porch first thing in the morning and just. Take it in. Journal maybe. Or do my movement for the day!

80 OZ OF WATER A DAY

When I go to work, I'm usually pretty good about staying hydrated. But I'll need to focus on drinking more water when I'm at home. I have a 32 oz water bottle, so will hypothetically need to drink 3 or so of my water bottles. Actually, just 2.5 water bottles!!

I think I'll work this around meals, maybe? Drink a solid amount after breakfast, finish one by lunch. Finish the second by dinner, and another half before bed? Feels feasible.

CHOOSE YOUR MEAL PLAN

Hoo boy, ok. This is something I am…really not where I want to be. I want to have a better approach to meals and cooking overall, but am really anxious about even the thought of it. I don't know where to start.

Well, didn't. I talked to my mom and I am so grateful for her because we have a game plan for tomorrow now! Tangential to this goal, but essentially I'm going to start getting my own stash of food so I can feel better about making meals!!! I'm very excited about this.

30 MINUTES OF MOVEMENT

This is something I want to improve at as well, but think I will break this up into smaller sections to ahve a bit more variety in the consistency. Stretch for 10 minutes, and then 20 minutes to spend on dance, walks, or small workouts.

I want to stretch in the morning, perhaps when I go on my porch in the morning! Then I could go on a walk… good options!

20 MINUTE WILD CARD CHALLENGE

Well. I would like to do a myriad of things, but I need to practice/learn German. I have a class this fall that I need to pass, but it's been very hard so far. I haven't been consistent yet, so I want to do so BEFORE I need to. It can be 5 minutes across different learning apps, or a 20 minute video, or something in between. I just have to show up.

EIGHT HOURS IN YOUR BED

Easy. I love sleep, and to be honest take naps too often. I'll be eeping, believe you me.
